How did you get an invite to that? Looks great fun!
Do they still do them? We just tend to hear about experience days now.

I don't actually know. There was a chap there who drove a Corsa, how the hell did HE get an invite? He was never going to buy a RR, at least people like myself although I won't buy new cars again can be enticed to STAY with Land Rover!

I reckon if you sign up on car maker's websites about cars you may end up on lists...? Who knows how it works, seems totally random to me.

that is a dreadful attitude to take Sad

how did the corsa driver get an invite? - never buy a RR?

i'm sorry but you seem to think you are 'better' than a Corsa driver?

let me tell you a little tale?

a friend of my father's who is a multi millionaire likes to sometimes keep his 'hand in' with his plant hire business

some years ago he stopped at Sytner in Nottm to have a look at a BMW for his wife - was wearing 'work clothes' - nobody would even talk to him

so he went around the corner and drove his Ferrari Testarossa onto the forecourt - the dumb Censored came running out of the showroom - got a personal letter of apology from Frank Sytner RIP!

an acquaintance of mine owns 19,500 acres and could afford to buy any vehicle - in fact he does - and has a collection of very rare and valuable classic cars including several Ferrari's.

Yet his choice of everyday transport is a beaten up Volkswagon Polo - the term is Inverted Snobbery Thumbs Up

Sounds like my kind of man. I've got a Skoda Fabia. Makes me look eco friendly. Laughing

i drive an 'old' focus estate to 'town' - not got a 'chip' about that either

its like the old saying - 'class' is something you cannot buy' - you can have the rolex/rr/wife has tits uplift etc - but common decency and humanity is a rare trait!

And the moral of this tale is? You should get better service because you drive a ferrari? Is he then better/worse than the groundworker he portrayed an hour before? Why would he feel the need to fetch his ferrari if it wasn't to suggest that the service he receives should be better. Could he not have approached the manager and requested a decent standard of service?
IMO, I think you've applied a similar standard as the earlier post Crying or Very sad Ian

no its not - its simply that the OP went way OTT describing himself as 'better' than a Corsa' owner

I think its all to do with perceived wealth and purchasing power. I have noticed it too, you turn up in jeans and an old beaten up car and you are un-noticed - you turn up in an expensive car well dressed and the idiotic salesmen are falling over themselves with £ signs in their eyes thinking yeah COMMISSION
