First sign of arch rust

Spotted this today, took the trim off and it doesn’t look too bad but want an opinion.

What’s the best way to deal with this and is this the beginning of the end for that arch?

I’d say you’ve caught that well in time - need to remove the inner plastic wheel arch to check behind in the same area, a few different panels join here and damp gets into the seams. I suspect there’ll be similar early stage rust, looks to be all very treatable from that photo though Thumbs Up Jonathan

got to address a similar issue myself and was looking at the only seller who currently make replacement panels for the sill and about died when they quoted £305 per pair.

so as i have access to a metal work shop would it possible for someone on here to post the dimensions, bend angles etc for the sill whilst they are doing a repair so more of us can do the same without being held to ransom to the tune of one arm and one leg.

Thanks in advance

Someone's had to make the former and get them created, I don't think £300 for a pair of replacement arch panels is unreasonable if it's made in decent steel of a proper thickness.

I would agree with Ennoch.

Part of the £305 (which is not bad IMHO) goes towards measuring/tooling up, workshop time/costs & of course the material itself.

I noticed my first bit of small bubbling on both rear arches when opening the doors after the wet weather at the weekend, yet to take the plastic panels off but a quick picture from under that area does not look fun. Hoping it’s not too big a job once it’s investigated.

I noticed that my inner wings seem very rusty, especially drivers side, is this as common as the arches going? I know there must be a mutual rust relationship between them…
