99% of time I forget to press acess mode button anyway.
Auto mode will not help. Lowering takes time, but usualy when the engine is stopt, you (or passanger) will immidietly open the door.
So I use this mode only when washing the car. Better acess to the bonnet and glass.

I always lower when coming to a stop except when it is getting washed as I see it as giving better access to the wheel arches etc to get rid of any crud or mud. John

Always drop to access mode, just before stopping & as Kevinp stated.

But i when i have exited my FF, having parked in access mode…and double lock the RR, a few seconds later the car settles EVEN lower, and I hear the compressed air coming out of the system.

Do other folks get the same ?

When left over night, it takes a few seconds for the compressor to re-pressurise the system and lift the RR back into normal.

If you are not parked on level ground then the fatty will try to level itself after being parked, it does it by dropping the high corners, it doesn't add any air....

If yours is taking time to react on start up then I would suggest there is some reason air is exciting the system and it's low or empty when you restart...

Maybe worth some investigation....  Pete

The self levelling after exit is normal, after all, you've just removed several tens of kilos from the vehicle so it will rise from it's previous height as you get out.

If the air reservoir is depleting overnight, that is not correct and requires investigation.

I wonder how dropping into access mode and leaving for excessive time affects the suspension bushes as when they are fitted they are locked in place when at normal height so no load. I guess sitting at access height with a torsional load on them must reduce their life. Just a thought. Also own a 1976 Land Rover 101 3.5 V8.
