Genuine Brake Part numbers- TD6 & 4.4V8 models

I had to find this out as mine is a facelift model and everyone seems confused as to which brake pads to use.

A LR Dealer will give you a definitive answer from your reg number or VIN but this is what I found out.

The front and rear brake pads were changed from chassis number 58******* onwards. You'd think they'd be more expensive but they made them cheaper for once. The difference is they are smaller.

I only have the rear pad part numbers at the moment

There is a company on ebay selling new discs and pads quite reasonably. Front with pads £68, rear with pads £54. delivery around £10 per item. I've just emailed them to see how much for the lot in one delivery. 02 Vogue

I tend to go for cheaper (£20 a set) pads, my theory is that being made of what I presume is out of date cheese (although, does cheese ever go out of date or does it just get more expensive?) they tend to wear about 25% quicker than OEM pads. This means the discs last a lot longer.

I've currently got Bearmach on the front and Mintex on the back. These are now £16.99 at Island 4x4.

I actually think they stop better than the OEM's, but that may be my imagination. But they do throw out a whole load more brake dust than the OEM's. I notice that Island 4x4 now do the pad wear sensor too for £9.99 - Barjin!

Just had rear discs + pads and front pads fitted on my 2006 56 Plate FFRR 3.0d and parts listed as:-
SOE500030 - (TP) Sensor Assembly - front @£15+vat
SDB500202 - (TP) Disc - rear @£103+vat the pair
BDA0150 - Brake cleaner @ £5+vat
SFP500010 - (TP) Pad - front @£57+vat (actually ferodos)
SEM000012 - (TP) Sensor Assembly - rear @£18+vat
LR016808 - (T) Kit - Brake Lining - rear ferodo pads?? @£47+vat

From this topic, itl ooks like I could have maybe done a bit better on the prices but they seem comparable.
The LR01608 kit above is the only thing confusing me, I'm assuming it is the rear pad set (SFP500140) with some other ancilliary stuff bundled together. Anyone know? (I should have asked the Service guy).

Just out of interest, both my rear discs rusted about 4 weeks after they were fitted (the hub part) and I complained to the dealer as I reckoned they looked unsightly and asked where they were sourced from and was told they were standard LR issue (so can only assume LR are using another supplier). I mentioned that the ones they took off weren't rusty and nor were my front disc hubs and they had both been on for almost 3yrs!! As I got no joy, I'm now planning to paint the hubs with some high heat aluminiun paint I used on my other cars exhaust manifold.
