Did they fit genuine pads? the squeak is usually caused by the material the pads are made from. Cheaper pads use lower quality materials. I would check the rear of the pads for a name stamp.

Sounds like run out on the disc to me. Had that on my last one. The run out causes the pads to return too far back into the caliper leaving them slightly loose and that's what causes the squeak. Like you say a quick dab on the pedal gets rid of it.

Run out should be no more than about 10 thou which you can only test properly with a surface gauge.

Presumably this is something that needs to go back to the garage to check?

I don't know but assume so. To be clear there is no noise under braking, only after the brakes have been applied.

I recently had the pads and discs done on the front of my FFRRSC.

Since then the drivers side wheel squeaks periodically. When it does so the squeak is "solved" by applying the brakes - even quite gently. My immediate thought was either wheel bearing or rubbing pad (although I am not quite clear why this would squeak). Any ideas chaps?

p.s. I have a sound file but have no idea how to post it.

mine did exactly this, took 1000 miles for them to bed in then all ok.

Update: The problem has improved marginally over time and/or I've managed to highlight the cause more accurately. It seems to be worse when the wheel (drivers side) is under load - i.e. when turning. Any further ideas on causes chaps?

Hmm, wonder if it could be to do with the caliper bolts altering the angle of the caliper until it's loaded?

I only mention it because I changed mine last week and some C*%$(%*$)£*)$(*£$*%$:::@"t had cross threaded the upper caliper bolt.

Either that or wonder if it's a faulty disc?
