L405 'sloshing' and 'gulping' noises from fuel tank - Advice

Hi Everyone

I took delivery of my UK spec 3.0 Diesel Autobiography Range Rover L405 a week last Thursday and I have noticed that when the tank is full I can hear a lot of 'sloshing' of the fuel about the tank. If I break hard or set off from a standstill I can hear gulping coming from underneath the car. I know this is the fuel tanks because when the car is low on fuel it doesn't happen.

I have put my head under the car and there appear to be two large long plastic fuel tanks running underneath the passenger compartment - I wonder if there is a problem with the baffles in the tanks?

Has anyone else noticed this??

Thanks

Lonnie

This won't help much but first of all, welcome to the site!

I would be taking it straight back to the garage for anything you're unhappy about! Can't be a month old that can it?

Thanks... I have called them and they said to bring it down and let their mechanic listen to the noise, but I just wanted to see if anyone had the same thing - it could just be normal??

Have you seen the new Range Rover sport - I might have to swap!!Smile

Reminds me of the AA guy at the hotel last weekend.
Two L405 Range Rovers and a 2012 Sport.
Wipers on the sport had packed up as it'd burnt the motor out.

When I asked him what the problem was, he said "It's a Land Rover" Laughing

I think these will be good buys in a few years with niggles fixed and a whack of depreciation.

Nothing to complain so far, except for the lower tailgate that sometimes stops half way down! Problem identified and the pieces have been ordered!

Absolutely great car Thumbs Up

If you leave it with me for a week or so I'll check it out and find out what the problem is. Make sure the tank's full.

Very Happy

I'm betting the issue is different on the SC and 4.4 as the fuel tanks are different Smile Or just doesn't exist Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Must admit haven't heard this from our new 3.0 but haven't yet done that many miles,or indeed refilled the fuel tank yet

Has anyone had a conversation about this issue yet with a dealer? if so, I would be interested to know what their position/opinion on the problem is?

My local has no details on any sort of recall.
