You do relies that the mob over the pond will do international shipping, the guides are about £15, so even if you end up spending the same on shipping and add the possible 20% VAT and the post offices cut for tell you that you have a VAT charge, you should get change out of £40.
I can't see an engineering workshop producing a one off for less, as they'll have to digitise a drawing to get the machine code / tape to run the CnC lathe. And then set the lathe to do the task. Then you'll be left with your guide in a raw state which will need to be plated or kept in an oily state. I can see you paying more and ending up with less!
Buying from over seas is very easy if the seller plays ball, and these people do! All I'd suggest is to pay with either paypal (if they take it, no transaction fees!) or a credit card, both have a money back guarantee. And if your really lucky customs will over look them and you you wont get hit with VAT!
I've got a couple of Yank cars and I'm always getting spares from the US and Canada, it's easy, especially using paypal! And all the hype about import duties, on spares its just the VAT on the declared value from the sender. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Ok I'll take back the bit about playin ball, I've just gone thought the checkout process to get the shipping charges Shocked Shocked Shocked
While the guides are only £13, they want £45 to ship it Shocked Rip off!!!! Oh and at £13 the guides shouldn't attract VAT, just got to find away to get them posted for less, or find another outlet. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

That alignment tool looks a simple thing any engineering place could make. Just a solid round bar that will fit through the hole in the wheel, drilled and threaded to match the studs.

Almost as good as my suggestion but still requires lifting the wheel, when my idea does not involve any heavy lifting. Rolling with laughter

I use a gardening kneeling mat Embarassed

I jack the car up until the wheel is off the ground and until there is just enough room to slide said mat completely under the wheel. I then remove the wheel.

When putting the wheel back on, I just rest it back on the mat and everything lines up correctly if the car is at the same jacking height. The mat helps to slide the wheel off and later, back onto the wheel hub.

Works for me.

I take it the threading is the same across the model years, and that the different shank on BMW / Ford type cars will not affect it ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I watched a female trucker in the "Out Back" change a wheel no problem. She used a tyre lever to just lift it up on to the nuts. Made it look a piece of cake, and that was in the midday sun.
