Cheers Stan
So if I get a new sensor fitted to the spare wheel the module should pick it up without having to fit it and drive with it on for a few miles?

no, you will have to fit on FF and drive for at least 15 minutes......saying that , LR diagnostics can re-programme the sensor while its in the spare, but that will cost.. ... - .- -.

Cheers Stan.
I'll see if my local independent can programme it.

We seemed to have solved the problem. Local indie found spare wheel sensor and / or aerial giving error. From Stans post and other research I'd done I dediced it could be the TPM module in the boot as that also acts as the aerial for the boot. We fitted a borrowed module and problem went away. Now nearly £100 lighter after buying a new one. Fingers crossed........

Will only fail an MOT on a post 2012 car. The working TPMS requirement was not retrospective

Are you sure ?

I agree that TPMS isn't a requirement on a pre-2012 car.

However, I thought if it was fitted, then it has to work - any warning lights are an MOT fail for all cars.

Think it is because it is not a testable item, so can't failed

From the manual - specifically excludes it from the test

The inspection of the tyre pressure monitoring
system (TPMS) only applies to passenger vehicles
with:
• four or more wheels, and
• not more than 8 passenger seats excluding the
driver’s seat, and
• first used on or after 1 January 2012 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

I thought that any options fitted had to work - including towing sockets and the like.

Quote:
Warning lights

As well as electronic parking brake and electronic stability control warning lights (where fitted) the MOT test will also include checks for the correct function of the following, where fitted;

Headlight main beam warning light
Electronic power steering warning light
Brake fluid level warning light
Tyre pressure monitoring system warning light
Airbag warning light
Seat belt pre-tensioner warning light
Steering & suspension

That's what I was told by my MOT tester - but he could have been wrong.....

Sorry I didn't get back to you on the location Birdbrain but see Stan's got there now - all done by the garage anyway so I don't know!

My car (07) has passed 2 MOT's now with this error.

I seriously wouldn't fork out any more money on new valves.

Best investment would be an IIDTool to turn the system off. It's hopeless! IMO of course Idea Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I had the bluetooth one, but I think they can all disable the TMPS

For pricing, try Dan @ Duckworths Thumbs Up

I disabled TPMS, then had the valves removed from the wheels. The valves are so weak, I consider them dangerous - I had one break off as I was checking a tyre pressure.

I fitted a TPMS system to my ffrr, I'm really happy with it Shocked , but it's not a L/R product Wink Mine has a display that constantly shows the Tyre pressure and the temperature, and goes nuts and starts flashing and bleeping if the pressures drop or the tyre gets too hot (getting ready to go pop Shocked). It does have the in wheel monitors, as opposed to the cap type, which I was told can't handle pressures over 30 psi. So they would have been on good for me as the rears are run at 45 psi ( needs to be for towing very heavy trailers, that have large tanks with liquid slopping about in them ).

I can understand why your turning off your systems, telling you to check the pressures and NOT telling you which tyre is at fault, and by how much, is less than useless. It's like telling you the key is in the ignition and the doors open, like you wouldn't relies when you tried to lock the car Laughing

My system has gone off a couple of times recently, but this was due to a very cold night and the sun only hitting 1 side of the car, which caused 1 tyre to be 5 psi more than the other. I just press the silence button and watch the pressure climb as the tyre warms up when driving, takes a few miles to sort it's self out. But as it tells me what the problem is I can make the decision as to what to do. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Hello,I'm waiting for the final confirmation that I can cancel the TPMS warnings with the IID BT Tool number DA6412 (britpart) to buy in England and I send him to Spain.

Has anyone ever had this IIDTool and can anyone assure that I will be able do it?
Thank you
Elmer
