I've never used such a thing as an inspection before, never seen the need really. However as I say, I've never spent so much on a private sale.

Everything worked, no smoke at all, all the paint seemed straight. Seller has a load of paperwork for the car, lots of service history. Just as importantly, for me anyway, dare I say I got a good "vibe" from the seller. Thoroughly nice bloke who clearly loved his car and allowed me as much time as I wanted to look over the old girl.

He then insisted I test drive it, around differing roads etc.

Lovely car, just wish I could have bought it home today. It was the seller who mentioned an AA inspection, as he said himself, he would never buy a car without one.

And did he get one done before he bought this particular car?

Unfortunately the price you pay has no relevance whatsoever to whether or not you'll suffer turbo issues.  Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

He bought it from a trader, Hamworthy Car Centre so I assume he had some comebacks should anything materialise.
