Good on you for sticking with the standard wheel arches. Thumbs Up

TBH, not keen on the wing mirrors though.

Any other mods? Remapped? Question Very Happy Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Yeah, I guessed that was the reason. Thumbs Up

I prefer the old shape mirrors full stop actually; more in keeping with the overall stye of the vehicle than the "rounded off" ones. Generally, I still prefer the original D3 look, but the 10MY vs 14MY D4 brings pros and cons each way for me. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

NO......... The D3 looks sooooooo dated now! Never was a fan, liked the D4 as soon as it was released and the facelift even more... Neutral

We'll have to agree to disagree. Thumbs Up

The only reason it would look dated is because loads of cars now are covered in "bling". I don't like "bling" so... Neutral

At the end of the day, I care not whether my car looks dated or not; it's what I like that matters to me. Thumbs Up

Anyway, nothing ages faster than yesterday's idea of tomorrow... Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I'd agree that the Discovery 3 in its original form is a great piece of product design.

Discovery 4 is fussier and awkward, the 4 facelift slightly better - all the bling and glitz that Gerry McGovern says buyers want is tawdry and cheapens the car.

Loved my D3 too. Quite liking the facelifted versions and considered a 3.0 sdv6 instead of the range rover...

Not a huge fan of the newer front end but I usually warm to them and I'm sure I'll do the same this time Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

If I was ever to change away from FFRR it would be back to the Disco. Great bit of kit and in my opinion the best value car in the Land Rover Range Thumbs Up

Simply agreeing with Lost for Words' opinion.

I didn't notice anyone crying like a spoilt little girl when you criticised the looks of the Discovery 3.

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Personally I like them all, for different reasons.

I think the D3 can look a little under wheeled and doesn't looks quite right with the black plastic trim. And the inside is just a little on the plastic side, and the 2.7 pulls like an asthmatic donkey. But at the time was a fantastic car if a little underpowered.

The D4 is better inside by a fair stretch IMHO though the fundamental packaging is the same, and the body coloured kit looks better on the outside. And the 3.0 is a decent lump. Mine has the 2.7 so still pulls like and asthmatic donkey! But it has progresed technologically from the d3 with the addition of the terrain response system. Which does work a treat.

The facelift is a great car. Richtdv8 swapped his ab for one. Very nice it is too, in isolation, and practical too. If I didn't have the FF i would have one! Is possibly the Swiss Army knife of cars. Seats 7 pulls 3.5 tonnes can be fitted with a winch and knobbly wheels and go pretty much anywhere. Or left alone and wouldn't look out of place at pretty much any location or occasion!

Do like Swmbos car though Craig Thumbs Up kinda blends the range together in one car. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The D4 is nice inside, but that bit less practical also. Wink

Bit confused? The D3, bar the base, coil spring models, has Terrain Response as standard from day one. Thumbs Up

The swiss army knife is exactly what the D3 is. It's a cracking off-road vehicle and the best tow car there is but is also a confortable, long-distance cruiser and in my top spec HSE I have nearly all the creature comforts that you guys have in your Rangies. Smile Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
