whats this worth

OK, so this isn't for sale just yet as i want to check it out further.
I have had this TD6 on my drive for a while after my mate lost his only key and i decided to help before the rozzers towed it away and turned it into baked bean cans, some of you may have seen my threads on here, it currently stands us in £1000 to get it back alive again and a few other bits.

It is now mobilised, and i have put a new MOT on it and done some other things that needed doing but there are a few bits that need tidying up.

This may be a chance to get to get to know it and you might know somebody who wants to buy it, or the owner may want it back but if it does go up for sale, this will be a good place to point a prospective buyer to.

The only history I have is that he bought it for £8000 earlier this year and he had it serviced.
He lost the only key and parked it up.
He got a job with the use of a company van and hasn't touched it since.

I intend to short term insure it and then take it for a good run or runs to determine it's condition from there, but the small amount of driving i have done in it so far it has seemed really tight and before he lost lost the key, the only fault it had was an injector fault which I now know was the wiring loom.
I have HPI checked it and is all clear and shows details of previous MOT and private number plate changes.

I have taken a few phots and that is where I am currently, stand by for more detail......
Feel free to ask any questions, i don't know what these are worth though.
it has 110K miles on it and I'll add more phots when i get more time.
Cheers
Andy

Think He might have overpaid tbh, unless it's mint.

You can get one of the 3.6's with similar mileage for that money.

I would agree , it was from a dealer with a 3 month warranty hence the price, I think it was an impulse buy.
I have it on a trickle charge at the moment but the battery has suffered from being parked up for a while I think, there are a couple of trim bits missing at the front and the HDC switch needs replacing.
He’s not going to make his money back on it but until I can give it a good test drive I don’t want to put it up for sale.

I’m going to do the tidying up bits and go from there I think.

The cazana HPI check thing said £9365, WBAC is £5200 so somewhere between the two is about right i guess.
i imagine when you turn up to WBAC and it is not concourse condition then they will offer you £1

I'd agree here in the US with a private party sale. But no diesel for us. If you could find a diesel conversation it would add $3k USD easy.

I am hoping to add it to my insurance so i can tax it and use it for a bit otherwise it's about £45 / day on temp cover.
Just started it up and it fired up straight away so it has potential....

Can you translate that for us outside UK? Here we like to avoid having things taxed. It goes way back. You are saying it costs you £45 ($60) a day for insurance? Sounds absurdly expensive. I pay a bit over $100 a month for 2 cars/2drivers with collision on the RR.

Unless its spot on you'd see that £5200 slim down to around £4K at WBAC and they chip £100 off for every bit they can find.

What mileage did Cazana estimate your car had? as it usually gives random mileages and then offers tip top retail prices. On my last car they estimated my car had 30,000 miles when it actually had 7,000 miles and just because they didn't take into account that all my cars have the same private plate and they couldn't tell the difference between a black one and a loire blue one. Incompetent pratts they are. 2016 SDV8 Autobiography
And several others previously.

Yes of course, apologies, we have to pay tax or a road fund license just to drive on a highway and that varies based on emissions and age of vehicle so this vehicle would be £360 / year to tax it approximately, my older 2004 4.4 petrol is £260 per year approx as the rate changed around 2006. A newer 5.0 supercharged is around £500 / year i think. This can be paid monthly. this is supposedly to cover for building and maintaining roads.

The vehicle is currently not insured to drive on the road and it cant be taxed without being insured.
The insurance is to cover for having accidents, theft of fire etc.

if i can add this vehicle to my current FF insurance policy i can then tax it and drive it for a while to make sure all is well but if i cant add it to my current policy i would either have to insure it for a year which would probably cost me around £350 or I can buy temporary short term insurance but that costs in the region of £45 / day or weekly for £120.

i only want to use it for a short period of time to make sure i can sell it with confidence knowing that it drives ok.

on top of having the above the vehicle has to have an MOT to make sure it is roadworthy and then we pay £1.30 for a litre of fuel roughly and most of that is tax which goes to fund people who don't want to work for a living mainly !
