Yes, but I want tv in motion as well. I don't think that has that facility by the looks of it. The two leads I have, have a box halfway down the loom. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I tried a TV in motion cable in mine and it didn't work, in the end I bought the nav coder interface and it worked perfect after that. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Well I'm with you 100% on the cheaper Thumbs Up

Noddy , only disadvantage I see with that one is that it doesn't look to have an obvious plug in sensor for the remote. If you got one with this feature.. you don't even need to run it to the front ... run it ip to the top of the D pillar trim and just point the remote rearwards when using.

I like the idea of music and vid on the usb / sd card. Dunner even need the ipod then! I'll browse the other linked ones now... I've had this on the ideas shelf for a while.

You can always keep the reverse camera as well... just have a 2 into 1 cable adapter for the AV inputs.. then relays to shut the TV power off / TV feed off in reverse. If relays and such ain't your thing a simple switch arangement could quickly be cobbled up for the centre console. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

I bought my BMW Hybrid TV Tuner for £320 and sold my old LR analogue tuner for £250 and if my maths are correct thats a very nice "low cost" of £75 Whistle

It's all a question of timing Wink

In this instance, your maths are incorrect, it cost you only £70 (unless you have added hidden costs of £5). Sorry, had to mention it! Very Happy Steve

I managed to get one of these leads and have tried it today. I bought the Freeview unit mentioned on page one of this thread.

I plugged the DVB-T unit in using the video and audio in cables. Switched TV to AV and .... nothing. Sad

The unit is powering up and the remote powers it on and off but I'm not getting any image or menu. The instructions are OK but don't mention anything about any pre-power up operation or inputting of any codes etc

Back to the drawing board! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I have done this on mine and the only thing I changed was the ariel that came with the unit. I changed it for an amplified version from ebay and it works well.

Are all your connections tight and have you definately got your AV leads plugged into the correct AV inputs on the lead?

I just turn my TV on, select AV and turn the freeview box on.

Mine has a DVD system allready in with screens in the headrests so I just split the DVD input to take both DVD and freeview.

I did have the tv in motion adapter lead but I have now sold that on and used navcoder to enable it. Reformed

Everything is connected as it should be, yes.

Thing is, I'm not sure whether it's the lead or the freeview box that's at fault. Both have 12 months warranty so that's not an issue. It's just determining which is/isn't working.
I can't even think of anything else I have to hand that I could plug into the loom to test it 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

It could possibly be the freeview box, the first one I brought did not work so I returned it & got my money back, and then I brought one like the one mentioned at the start of this thread and that worked (apart from the signal) so I brought the cheap £20 amplified ariel of ebay and wired that up instead, and mine has worked fine ever since.

I would contact the seller and try a replacement.

Another easy check, is if you have something like a portable dvd player or camera that connects to the TV, try and connect that to your lead on the car and see if the AV channel picks that up, if it does then you know its not the lead. (Infact when I was testing mine, I put an extension lead out to the car and plugged in the DVD player from upstairs, and used the AV outputs into the car loom and that worked, thats how I found out my first freeview box was not working, at the time I managed to lose my incar DVD system as well but that was my fault as I had left it unplugged!!) Reformed

I changed my 2004 L322 (BMW non-touch screen) to digital TV yesterday. And one gets digital radio channels too - but it's mono.

I bought the PIBUS PTV kit from Melbourne and a digital TV tuner from China. See PTV - Digital TV interface board for BMW

Don't buy the PTV board from the same bloke in China who sells the DTV - he's ripping off the Aussie who designed the unit.

The hardest part was drilling two holes for the antenna connectors and two holes to fit the USB socket (for playing movies from a USB stick). Ron B. VK2OTC

I'll drop a line to Peter to let him know.

Re the PTV board, I'll also check if China is still buying from him. Ron B. VK2OTC
