England 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black
T4 test book not working

Hi all

I went to a local lr specialist this morning to do
An update on my car,

But the t4 test book would no communicate
With the car????

He tried a snap-on one and that worked fine.

Any one else had this issue 04 td6 RANGE ROVER 04 TD6
RANGE ROVER ULTIMATE EDITION 2012
UPGRADE.

The T4 would not communicate at all?

One issue we've had with more than one IIDTool user is the pins on the OBD connector not making proper contact.

If you look into the OBD connector on the vehicle, there is a little 'tongue' inside the square connectors that actually makes contact. It's a bit fiddly but try bending these for better contact.

It's solved all our customer's probs. 
RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr,
P38, and 2 L322s
(wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too)

Ok cool I'll give it a try,

But why does the snap-on one work???


Also is the allcomms same as t4, or do the same upgrades RANGE ROVER 04 TD6

Thicker pins. Could be the reason the T4 does not work.

AllComms has fault code read/clear and EAS calibration - and one or two functions in editing the ccf. Not nearly the same as the T4.

So basically I need to do a engine management software update
Is the t4 the only way to do it then??
