So we have a result somewhat.. See photo, when I hold the hook bar and move it it stops the buzzing sound. But there is no metal touching off metal so how could it cause that noise..Plus it's not the box as this is a different one..

Could that rubber thing really be the cause of the problem?

could be , coz sometimes the rubber mounting bush can get worn and thus not have a tight fit around the lugs on the exhaust , which in turn could cause it to have a droning effect ====================================

I think your looking at upto £8 each but they do last a long time and only become worn if pulled out for a long duration.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

So went to 2 places today bout the vibrating noise, fast fit place said nothing wrong and other garage said I need a flexi tube to absorb the vibration but couldn't tell me what was causing the noise.. Has any tried these flexi tubes? Anyone know the part numbers for those orange things in the pictures as I might get a set just in case.. Thanks Thumbs Up

I'd invest in some new rubbers Lolo.

Clean the prongs when taking the old ones off and put some copper slip on the bulbus part as it will aid fitting the newer tighter one on and also allow some movement as if they are twisting a little it could be causing the buzzing.

PS Dan will have the PN's for you im sure Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The part number for the rubber hangers, genuine, is WCS000110.
You could get them from Dan at Duckworths or Rimmer Bros etc. About £11.00 each.
And no, you don't need a flexible exhaust section to cure your problem. No other TD6's have them and don't have a vibration problem.
The vibration will be set up by the engine, it just so happens that from what you describe part of the exhaust system appears to be touching metal to metal somewhere.
Could be the pipes, the silencer, the cat or any of the brackets or bolted joints etc. It could even be one of the rubber hangers vibrating the aluminium heat shielding.
The only way to find it is to run the engine at idle, in park and get underneath and work along the exhaust until you find the offending bit.
As far as I can tell it may be the case that the exhaust rubbers are not genuine, they certainly don't look like mine.
Then of cause mine could be wrong. Smile

So I gave in and got the flex pipe welded on, the mechanic was so sure this would work he promised me my money back if it didn't €150. Lo and behold, no noise. (so far)! Also got the new rubbers on before the welding but these didn't help unfortunately, but they were cheap enough. Have to say, maybe I'm just imagining things, but its much more quiet at idle. V happy Very Happy
