There is a top and bottom bush that should be done at the same time. Wishbone bushes don't usually give much problems so should be fine, but worth checking whilst the vehicle is dismantled. The bottom bush will require a new circlip and you should purchase new camber bolts and fit them before having the tracking done. One camber bolt for the top rose bush and one for the toe control arm per side

Do the generic bush push-puller kits work on the hub bushes? V8 or else ...

Not sure what you mean by generic bush puller. They need to be heavy duty as the bushes can be a bd to come out

Should be ok, but I would suggest you buy a length of threaded rod and some nuts before you start as the ones in the set will most likely get stripped

Sets like that look to be @ £300 on the bay.

We need a tool pool for kit like this.

I am hoping I can do the smaller bushes with sockets and threaded rod, but might have to get something made up to replace the subframe bushes! .

I've seen a version of that kit for about £150 from a Manchester online place who I'll phone later in the week as it says stock is due in.

To be honest, the cost of that kit is probably pushing the cost of labour for a full set of bushes too ... Plus it's something that will be able to be used on other cars . The wife has said just get it and be done. A lot of the kits look the same ... Hard to tell from looking at the pics which are quality and which aren't.

As for pool of tools:

I also plan on doing the subframe bushes that the body sits on. This will be a tool that I'm going to make myself from various bits of steel as its essentially a large push puller. If it works well, I'll certainly make it available to other folk to use. Don't be expecting snap-on quality but it should be decent enough. V8 or else ...

I used a Saab bush tool for the bottom bush and a couple of sockets for the top one
