Lovely car! It may be quieter and smoother, but does the engine noise sound as good as the petrol when you open it up? I don't think I could be tempted away from petrol because of the sound, but I am told the tdv8s sound pretty nice!

The answer is yes!!!!

It is much quieter inside even when you kick down but you still get the V8 burble.

Very quiet when pulling up long hills with the van on the back, the petrol used to be a bit too noisy then.

I have not driven it with the windows open yet due to the weather but I used to enjoy the noise from the last one when I stopped to pay the Forth Bridge tolls then took off from the covered in booth area.

Not heard it from outside as the OH has not had a drive yet.

Ian

The 4.4 TD is a monster of an engine and combined with the 7 speed box is just well god damn superb. Far to many gone...

The 4.4 TDV8 has an 8-speed gearbox by the way!

The 4.4TDV8 ZF 8HP gearbox has EIGHT forward gears. NINE if you include reverse.
