Towing with air susp. inactive message

As the suspension locks when towing, and mine is currently locked in standard ride height due to the above fault, will towing be a problem?
The suspension is still rising and falling on slopes etc, so I assume it's still working, just no control over the ride height switch which is illuminated.

+1

Mine was inactive for 6 months, I had to go for an MOT and an inactive air suspension is an MOT failure

so i had it fixed. it was an faulty steeringwheel sensor

It's not an mot failure. I had the fault on mine when it went in for mot. The garage checked with VOSA and they said it was ok. Having said that, my mot was in March, so things could have changed since then. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

My suspension failure was also a Steering Angle Sensor - but this also caused the ABS light to come on, and its that that is the MOT failure... l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

No problem towing with it I've that ... Mine throws the error all the time for the pressure static message and it's stayed in normal height for months including regular towing. I just can't be otherwd resetting it sometimes so it manages fine. V8 or else ...

It is an MOT failure if your vehicle is fitted with Xenons.

The air suspension keeps the vehicle level at all times which gets rid of the requirement to have the Xenons automatically adjust, hence why there is no 'up and down dance' of the lights on startup on the FFRR.

if there is a load on the rear , ie a trailer/caravan then the range in standard mode will level out , if that happens then the xenons are directing their beam in the correct place, so how can this be a mot failure...or have i got the wrong end of the stick... ... - .- -.

If there is an 'air suspension inactive' message then the air suspension is not working properly, and therefore is not potentially levelling the vehicle correctly, and hence the reason for MOT failure. It is an offence to drive a vehicle with Xenons without some form of automatic levelling. This is why people that swap halogen bulbs for xenon bulbs are breaking the law on most vehicles.
