I was going to make a very amusing comment about how you could pour stuff into the engine to make it quiet... But I won't cos I'll get told off.

Do the electric fans quick in if the engine starts to warm up too much, or do they only assist when the air-con needs it?

I use this stuff called BioD and occasionaly just for a few tanks try this 2stroke stuff but never notice much difference with it but the BioD makes it a fair bit quieter to my ears  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Yeah electric one kicks in most of the time to ensure airflow over the AC rad anyway to stop it freezing up and i know it kicks in when the engine gets very hot, ie long bouts of traffic after a motorway run. Can here it just about with the windows down and ac off  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
