Well - still got the vibration - at about 30mph when gently putting a bit of throttle on at low revs...

Mileage is 145,000 - and it's gearbox number 2 - it had a replacement just before I got it, at 80,000 - and not had a megaflush, It had a full fluid change and filters about 6 months ago. |

Had a quote from Midland Automatic Transmissions, who I've used before - if it's just the TC (which they think it is) to replace that, fully check out the box, flush it etc would be a grand. If the box needs recconning too it would be £2k. I don't think that's too bad? |

I think £500 for a TC and £1500 for a full Gearbox Recon is about standard. (With 12 month guarantee ) |

Mine cost just over 3k inc labour charges. Thank god for WarrantyDirect - who paid out with no hassle. |

Well - they've just been on the phone, the gearbox is good - all OK, so it's just a torque converter, plus they noticed that the crank oil seal is weeping, and there is a slight water leak from the rear of the engine - so they are going to fix those bits too - all for just under a grand... |
