Switch the blue connections, and see how that goes. Dont forget to follow the instructions I sent you, when you unplug the navigation unit.

Ok! I've tried connecting the sat unit direct to the tuner plug!
The splash screen comes up but stays on permanently?

And i did what you said waited for the system to turn off before removal etc !

Ok I've tried again!!
No screen at all and now music (radio) keeps turning off until I turn off the power button on the screen then back on again?

Mine does that occasionally if I leave it in map mode - whether or not using the sat nav for directions.

Once it starts, it gets gradually worse until I lose the radio altogether. If I then switch the car off and on, I get the default firmware (i.e. reset to original factory settings) - leave it for a while and it all comes back on.

Seems to be ok if just in computer mode.

Some research on the BMW forums made me think I needed a new laser - not that I've done anything about it yet....

Item had been upgraded to v32 firmware with a Land Rover / Range Rover splash screen, and 2012 maps, inc speed camera warning. l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Sod's law - it did this all the way home! So much for occasionally!

Will try the tv tuner plug switch next! l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I had a boring journey home with the 1 radio station I have! Can't see to Change station!!

It's tempting to rip out the entire stock system and replace with after market through out? Only prob is changing the clock when the clocks go forward?? Lol
