Side indicator not working

While my car is a the dealer for the drain problem, I wanted your opinion on something.
In the process of my problems, I had to feed the car in electricty through the indicator as described here:

So I cut the wire and used an earth point, then rewired the cable. Since then the indicator doesn't work.
I've of course swapped bulbs to check it wasn't the bulb, I've of course checkd the cut wires made good contact (maybe someting special to do here?)
One suspicion would be that I've pulled too hard on the cable and unplugges something beneath the panel?

Any ideas?

It also refers to unlocking through the side markers (American vehicle lamps fitted to side of vehicle) so if you have connected power through the side indicator you could have blown something

It was my understanding that marker was the us term for indicator...
