TDV8 4.4 oil filter

Where is the engine oil filter on a 2012 TDV8 4.4 litre and how do I get to it?

A long sad story, but I need to do an oil change after a poor service experience. Big Cry

Believe it or not, it's at the top of the engine in the middle at the back, under a cover. It's also upside down! Make sure you - And doubly sure check the seal is put back in place. Mine wasn't by some thick idiot of a LR tech iguana with greasy hair, bad breath and dandruff! Result sprayed oil everywhere! He no longer works there! 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Badly replaced Oil Filter can also result in low oil pressure and catastrophic failure....

Thanks Vogue, I'll look out for the seal and make sure the filter is fitted upside down. Will check the old filter and replace the same way. Thumbs Up

Apparently it is a very regular occurrence. I would call it a design fault if even a pleb of a tech cannot complete such a simple task.

Land Rover are you listening! ??? Because its costing you money and inconvenience! And plissing your customers off.
Oh and we are running 8 of your vehicles here.

Gazellio, your post is doing wonders to my confidence, fortunately a mechanic (Not Landrover trained) will be on hand to stop any obvious mistakes.

Not LR trained is probably a bonus! Judging by some if the experiences we have had
