Wifey has taken up a spanish internet course and as per usual we are all Appled up , so her iPad can't manage the course as it doesn't have Flash and for her to sit in the study on her iMac would be too boring ....... plus me on mine would coz shall we say "aggro" ...

So had a saunter around Currys and PC world tonight , seen this tablet Microsoft Surface which would do roughly what she needs it for ....

Anyone on here used them , any good , before i end up buying her one tomorrow ... have read a couple of reviews about them but best to hear from someone who has used them

They just reviewed it on the gadget show tonight. So have a watch on 5od it had a few negative issues. They compared it an asus and the ipad air.

Ipad was best but as you say no flash.

Personally i would go with a cheap small laptop..... Especially if the course involves any amount of typing.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It comes with a removable keypad , don't think there is any typing just earphones and listening and friggin repeating ....

Plus with it being touchscreen ,..... Wifey thinks everything is touchscreen nowadays  ====================================

Yep saw that.

Not used one as they are quite new but have a watch of todays gadget show and they have a 5 min segment about them.

The windows 8 os would put me off, unless it is massively better than windows 7 on a dell laptop we have..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Didnt think apple actually allowed 3rd party browsers on ios. The others are basically wrappers for safari afaik so still dont think they let you play flash. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Windows would be a bonus as she could also use it for remotely accessing the office instead of using the desktop PC in the house  ====================================
