Rules are, if the vehicle wasn't manufactured to Canadian or US specs originally, it must be 15+ years old for licensing in Canada and 25+ years for the US.  (Canadian & US specs are very similar, so importing a car from one country to the other is usually not a serious problem.)

It seems like the prices on these can be pretty low, and I like the idea of a bare bones vehicle for hunting and off tarmac adventures.
