the headlights are pretty tough and i'd think you would be very unlucky to get stone chips on them but i suppose it does happen and there's bound to be some one selling a protective film of some kind.... ... - .- -.

I'm putting PPF on the bumpers and was toying with what to do with the left overs, hence the question. Travelling around in circles again. |

what about running the headlights for 30/40 minutes and see how warm/hot the lense is, this should give you an indication if the PPF will ok.. ... - .- -.

You should be fine if it is a decent quality film. The projector lens is set back a decent amount from the lens, so should be no problem. |

You can get film for covering head lights which is not that thick (helped someone put smoked film on his lights a while back) and no problems although they were halogen rather than xenon There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

The headlamps will cope with film no problem... The heat from the bulbs is much less than the heat of the midday sun... |

My FFRR came with film on the headlights. I didn't know it until an idiot in a Ford tried to make a new lane between me and a bus. |
