Rear Arches Bubbling!

Not a very exciting title to a thread, but here goes...

Noticed some very slight bubbling to both the rear arches, bloody annoying that.... Evil or Very Mad So took it and booked it in for paint at the local bodyshop. He's done a few of these with exactly the same problem and apparently, the drain holes for the sunroof might be blocked Question therefor water is finding its way down to the rear arches. Shocked Shocked

I know water ingress comes in from the rear windows and that was where i was going to go first...

Anyone know where the said sunroof drain holes are?? Dont really want to be painting it twice do we........ Big Cry 2011 TDV8 Autobiography

Well, have look at my thread regarding this

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic9387.h...wheel+arch

Had it stone chipped by the Bodyshop and put rubber protectors on to stop it happening again.

This is the only fix I know. Not had an issue since.

Don't know anything about sunroof drains causing it though.

I assume you meant on the lip of the wheel arch.......? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Ah. More in the visible area then.....

Not a bodywork expert, but I'd guess it's better to catch it early and get it corrected.

See you have some arch lip protectors on.

It could have been repaired already judging by how badly protected that area is. Only the Bodyshop will be able to tell you when they do this repair.

I mean badly protected from the factory, not on your rr specifically........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Mine too. Gonna tackle them in the next few weeks now it's warming up. Still not sure which rust convertor to use. I plan on grinding out as much of the rust as possible first.

Would all this bubbling have anything to do with the water ingress through the 2 rear side windows? Idea The same ingress that knackers your nokia bluetooth module up? Question 2011 TDV8 Autobiography

I think you are spot on with the idea this is connected with water ingress to the rear compartments.
Any water that gets into the car sits in the bottom of each side and gradually causes the panel to corrode and eventually perforate causing the bubbling you have. When I got my car water tight by fitting a new tailgate seal I made a point of taking out all the bits I could in order to get access to apply a thick layer of grease to the inside surface of each of the panels to inhibit corrosion. So far no corrosion.

Thankfully my arches aren't no where near as bad as those Joe has, just the lip had a little rust ( now sorted ) Mr. Green
Its my top tail gate just starting to bubble up on one corner! If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
