Dog Cage Modification

LO Peeps

First off I wanted to say a big thanks to all that have contributed ideas and helped me in the problems I have had Bow down Bow down

So my modification to the dog cage.
Now I have a funny feeling most will look at this and think why did he even bother posting this as it is only going to appeal to a very small audience.

The only problem with this full hight dog cage was when you opened the doors there was a chance of damaging paintwork and I didn't Censored want that !

Now I can't claim that this was my idea as a friend ( yes I know its hard to believe I have any Razz ) after chatting to him about the problem he produces this.

Really should of left the item on the card , my bad but all will become clear Embarassed

He gave me three of these , two for the boss and one for the cage Bow down

The rest of the pictures show how they were fitted , the only thing I had to do was cut each point where the grill of the cage is horizontal to get the rubber to fit properly.

I am really pleased with the end result because before I did this every time I opened the cage I would have to put something between the cage door and where it met the body work of the rear of the car and I would of thought If I hadn't done this , over time it would chip away at the paint which I really didn't want to happen so for over a year we have been putting something there to protect the body work and it really Censored got on my nerves and cased a few arguments as trying to get the dogs out without banging the door was a pain in the bum but now with these fitted , problems no more Thumbs Up

Job done and am very pleased with the end result Very Happy

As said before it will only appeal to a few but I just wanted to contribute something that might just help someone else as I have had so much help from others Thumbs Up

Oh the job these protective rubber strips ( or whatever they are made of ) work really well as the Boss used to be a chef , she was forever burning herself on oven trays and these things really do work well at there intended purpose , so if nothing else you can protect yourself form possible burns using your cooker Thumbs Up

Hope I didn't bore you guys to much with this post Whistle
Cheers

Thanks Stan Thumbs Up

Its funny but in all the time we have had this bread neither of them has ever done any damage at all unlike the Weimaraner we had that would let herself into the fridge and help herself to the contents , ended up putting child locks on the fridge and replacing at least three rubber seals , really Censored annoying but yet again our dogs are treated like family so you put up with it , I think the worst case was the Boss did the weekly shop on the saturday and we went out on the sunday and when we got home she had helped herself then proceeded to be sick everywhere Evil or Very Mad

Can laugh at it now but wasn't funny at the time Rolling with laughter

Cheers

The simple solution are often the best. Nice Job buddy. Thumbs Up

I had the same problem with one of my previous cars. I had the same solution but used the foam pipe laggin held in place with a couple of cable ties. I had a German Shepherd at the time (Ex Police Dog) and he had no respect for car paintwork.

If I had known you had this problem I would have passed on my solution. But to be honest I think your's might be more durable in the long term.
