A dash cam question for those of you with 1080 HD cameras

I have a dash cam already but it is a '720' not a '1080 HD'. When I play back the footage I find it difficult to read the number plates of cars passing by in the opposite direction. Are the 1080 dash cams really any better?

1080 resolution does not automatically guarantee a better image if the lens on the camera is a poor one.

So is there anyone out there with a 1080 camera that produces a good enough image to read number plates. If so, what one do you have.

Thanks. Travelling around in circles again.

If your watching the play back, its difficult to see number plates but if you pause close to Range Rover on play back number plates are very clear on on coming traffic, I'll dig a picture out if you want to see what my camera sees. I have a 0801 1080p cam. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Thanks Welshdragon. Tried that but the image is so poor I cant read the number plates. I obviously have poor resolution and a poor lens on mine. Travelling around in circles again.

I think the 0801 has been superseded by the 0803 which apparently has better video quality at night than the 0801.

Here is a link to the site I used to get my 0801's from.

Couple of pics of my 0801 installed.
