I would go aux (lighter) socket in the boot or go direct to the battery. The whole area of OBD is complex and best avoided if you can unless there is a specific reason you need to take that route?

Just that I have a 4amp solar charger that connectsvia the OBD. Used on another vehicle.

Thaks for the advice.For what they cost I will buy another and use an aux connection Life aint no dress rehearsal. |

Just to add, as SKOT said you'll have to use the boot socket as this remains "live", the ones in the front are isolated when the ignition is turned off in my experience so it won't charge
