As main dealers go, you have to doff your hat to Aston Martin Works Service. They charge like a wounded rhino, if you go a little off-piste (they are fine for servicing).

A friend sent his Aston Martin Vanquish there.

He had several thousand pounds of upgrades done to it by them.

The car was missing the umbrella to go in the boot (it had the straps to hold said umbrella, it was just missing the umbrella). He asked for a new one to be put in (i.e. open the boot, put the umbrella in the straps, close boot). On his bill, he noticed a charge for "fitting the new umbrella" - labour £80. He questioned it. They eventually did knock that off the bill.

I had something similar with them - they offered to fit a new stereo. I asked for a quote - £200 if I supplied the unit. I said OK (I could have had it fitted free at the local place but I didn't want some work experience teenager pulling apart my Aston). The final bill they gave me was for £2,000. I argued them back to £200.

It's around 2.5-3 hours, tops to replace. Done loads of them

A new Denso (OEM) unit can be had for £265.

Fully charge, or recondition the battery, and go from there Thumbs Up
