Break pad wear indicator lead, clips into a groove on the pads, seems to have been left off.......

Exactly, wears to the contact, then light comes on. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

My 2003 TD6 has 2 wire sensors so I assume it is a closed circuit that once the sensor has worn becomes open circuit and maybe goes to earth as well though the disc. But mine has the rear one hanging loose and the light is on. All pads are ok and fluid is fine. Adrian VW Amarok 2014 Highline auto |

As today was such a lovely I thought sod it let's replace the rear brake pad west sensor after work.
