Stick with it pall for now, Green ovals are never cheap to run when they go wrong you not sorted that coolant leak then? could be that O ring just below rad. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Local indie couldn't trace the leak love the car it's my second but feel like pulling my hair out sometimes

I've had various coolant leaks on mine over the last couple of years. The first was a hose which had become displaced and had a groove cut into it by the bottom pulley. Solution; two inch gaffa tape. (After replacing the hose of course!).
Second leak was a pain but I eventually traced it to a hairline crack in the coolant reservoir. This is common and can be hard to see as it tends to happen when under pressure when driving then the heat causes the leaking coolant to evaporate so you can't see where it came from. Solution; kitchen towel to dry the outside of the reservoir then sitting in the drive at 2500 revs for a while to build up pressure then using kitchen towel again to see if there was any leakage. New reservoir takes less than 30 mins to fit.
Third leak; that annoying little hose at the back of the engine. Another common problem. I let someone else replace that for me.
Then there was this months issue. Water pump relieving itself with the engine not running. Again a bit of DIY which took a few hours but it is well worth the time I spent.
I guess what I'm saying is that despite all of the above I still love my V8 and the roar (and I do mean roar!) it makes when I set off at speed.
Keep at it and have a look at the areas I have outlined. Hopefully this helps!

Presume you've also checked the coolant expansion tank bleed screw as the source of coolant loss Dave Ray?
