Hi all, I've just fitted some drilled and slotted disc's from Britpart, and I'm having some BIG PROBLEMS
I put the L/H disc on the near side and the RH disc on the off side, that appears to be the correct sides from what I can make out. Anyhow I banged them on the bus, cleaning the drive flange with a wire brush, gave them a good tap around the boss to make sure that they are seated. Threw the wheels on the car and went for drive, to say that there is a slight vibration is the understatement of the decade............. it feels like the discs are warped, the peddle is jumping and it is impossible to stop without shaking the car.
Is this a normal side affect of slotted/drilled discs bedding in, or do I HAVE A DUD SET OF BRAKES ??

Brakes should not vibrate! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I have them on mine but there is no significant vibration. Slight drone under moderate braking bu tunder hard braking the are good. Sounds like something else is out.
Did you change the pads at the same time?
I cant fault the disks or EBC pads I used.

Feels like the wraped disc from hell, but it could be caused by bedding in, I just want to be sure before I rip it all apart again and get very sh~ty with the supplier. They do stop the car very well, and quickly, its just a bit unnerving when the peddle jumps up and down! seams to be better under heavy braking than light ????????

Yes I did use new pads, and they are ecb, I've changed hundreds of discs in my time and never have I had this. I was just wondering if it was a drilled slotted thing.

Never had any problems in the past with that type of disc, although I have never used Britpart.

I suppose that I'll have to ditch them and the pads and start again

I fitted Terrafirma drilled and grooved discs to my D3 (with Brembo calipers)

They warped after a few months...

Best stick with OEM discs

At least you got a few months use out of them, mine warped getting it off the drive

i have drilled discs on front of mine fitted under previous owner. they run true and unnoticeable, except a very mild pedal vibration when motorway scare-dy-braking.
I once fitted some discs, and had a similar problem to yours, I took them off again and found I had got a flake of rust in the face of the hub. refitted and was fine.
Maybe get a spnning wire brush on the hubs etc, also check there are no burrs on the hub edge. do you have your old pads to try and retrofit?
lastly if you follow the groove on the disc, if you were to put you finger into a groove at the inner start point of the disc, and run the car forward, the grove will force your finger outwards. ie to the edge..... that's how mine are fitted.
