Wiring Loom for fitting ULF Bluetooth.

I'm planning my first improvement to my FFRR, the install of ULF module so I have got Bluetooth hands free.

Having looked in the boot whilst fitting my tow bar at the weekend, the car isn't pure wired for the phone kit as all I have in the boot is the white 12pin plug.

So I need to either make or source a loom to connect the 12pin connector to 54 pin connector on the module.

Does anyone know where I can either source a loom, or the part numbers for the connectors and have a wiring diagram to go from the 12pin connector to the Bluetooth module.

I know I need to the loom to goto the microphone, but I have found those part numbers on another thread.

Thanks,
Jamie.

Welcome mate.

Baris on here used to offer to supply / make them up, I'd say send him a PM, but you will need more posts before you have access to that facility.

My car was prewired so I just had to repin, as you have prob read in the threads.

You only need about a dozen or so of the wires, so it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out once you have the info.

Have you sourced a ULF yet ? I have a version 6 and it does voice recognition and pairs with my iPhone 5 with iOS 8 fine.......

As its the same kit as in the X5 and E39 5 Series, amongst others, other forums that are car specific have a bit of info.

Rover 75 stuff here ;

BMW M3 ;

http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-2218.html

and you will have seen this already I'd imagine ;

I am sure someone on here will have made up the actual loom and poss have more info for you......

The info on Cutters is handy thanks.

I may have had a bit of luck with the part number for the male side of the x400 connector, whilst looking at the tow bar loom which I haven't finished fitting it appears that the connector for the tow bar wiring on the car is the same as the x400 connector. Will check the part numbers later on when the rain stops.

No prob. I know it's not directly answered your question.

Just rained like mad up here too...... Sunny now !

I imagine the harness picks up from other areas as well, like the radio module etc, as 12 wires are not enough for the ulf......

Well after a bit of digging around this afternoon in between showers I have made a bit of progress.

The white 12 pin connector for the Telephone is connector number C2045, and is the same part number as the one for the trailer socket.

The male half has the following numbers on it BMW 1378137 and AMP2-828-879-1
The female half has BMW 1378139 and AMP2-828878-1 on it.

Looking at connector C2405 is as follows on my 2003 Vogue

Pin Colour Function
1 Red/Yellow Permanent +12V
2 Purple White Ignition +12V
4 White/Grey/Yellow I-Bus
7 Brown/Black GND
8 White/Brown Mute
9 Black/White + Speaker Feed
10 Black/Brown - Speaker Feed
11 White/Green Telephone On

Need to add the Mic loom to the above but those pins are documented elsewhere, and also need to add the pairing button to pin 32 and a feed to ground.

Going to try the local BMW dealer at some point with the part numbers above to see if I can get the plug.

Will keep this thread updated as I go, for future reference.

That looks a good start..... And you should have the part number for the 54 pin plug that I got from an Audi dealer to make up the other end......it's in one of my other threads somewhere.

Have you got the wiring diagrams for the Range Rover plug, so you can see where all the pins originate from ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yes have already have the Audi part number from one of your threads.

Got most of the info for the 12pin connector from RAVE think it is about 219 on the wiring diagrams.

I'm pretty sure that if you buy a loom it's the wrong side of £100 I saw on one thread.

I suppose if you can find out where the ulf wires feed from you will be away......

Is there 19 wires in all, I think..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yes have seen figures have £100 upwards for looms, I know by the time I have bought connectors and wire I could well be at £50 or so for parts.

From my work so far there are 13 wires including those for the mic and pairing button to get the ULF working.
