Hey Guys.
As some of you may know, my TD6 would not start about two months ago. I removed the injectors, reconditioned them and got her going again. Same issue arose again whereby it would take a small amount of turning before she'd fire. Then eventually it would refuse to start.

EAsy start would get her going and she'd work perfectly. I removed the injectors again and got them tested. THey where perfect. Now upon putting the injectors back into the car she wont start. There is good fuel pressure, because I replaced the pumps recently. Also seems to be good pressure at the rail, yet I got a warning about low rail pressure on the handheld?

Could the rail sensor prevent the car from starting even with easy start? Appreciate any thoughts?

Fuel pump near the rear wheel would be the first item to check

Thats what I'd have thought initially, but he says pumps have been replaced, so I assume it was both of them.

Fuel pump relay?

The rail sensor could indeed be at fault.

I had a similar issue where a spray of diesel and 2so mix into the intake would get her going but then she would die when nearly upto temp

Can you see any bubbles in the fuel line from the filter?

What's the exact error code you get from your handheld thing? Is it p0101 or something like that? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Hey guys thanks for the reply. The fuel pump relay is ok, because there is plenty of fuel at the filter and the injectors.
There also seems to be a lot of pressure at the fuel return lines. Is this normal?

Not sure of the error code. I can check the later. Must make sure the injectors are operating.
Only one cylinder has smoke coming from it.

I've seen on here somewhere the need to replace the fuel rail wiring loom (complete) or the fuel regulator as this can cause similar problems?

But if easy start gets her going and she works fine after that, I would check the glow plugs and wiring first. Or have you tried and tested all that already ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

The glow pugs don't work -was told i dont need them and they are only for noise reduction?

The easy start doesn't work now since we renewed the injectors!

Hopefully it's something easy.

You need to do an injector leak back test, while still on the car. This will highlight any internal leaks in the injector, which is a well known issue with the TD4/TD6

Very true you don't need the glow plugs unless it gets to -10 or lower they then help with cold starting quite a bit!

The injector loom is quite easy to replace and not too much of a big pocket buster but the episode of wheeler dealers where they had an l322 is good to watch to see how it's done  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Both readings taken when car was turning over. How do they look?

I don't think it's the injectors as I've just had all tested and reconditioned.

Just checked with another RR TD6. The low side looks perfect. However high of only 1000kpa is no where near enought o start (I think). They seem to idle between 30000-40000kpa.

So the problem is on the high side. I think. ?? Cheers. RRs really do test one patiences. Sadly.

When I had issues I was getting a low pressure reading of 389.3 low pressure and 16376 high pressure.

Both in kpa.
