I have intermitten messages that various lights are out and noo the indicators have decided to flash at double the speed.
Having been advised that it could be the LCM and that any replacement has to be reprogrammed by the main stealers.
If that is the case then how muchy approx to re-program
Any info would be good please folks.

The system seems to be over sensitive and at this time of year when the moisture starts getting to everything they seem to get upset, try removing and cleaning all the bulbs and holders, if the glass on any of the bulbs is starting to darken, then change them, just make sure everything is clean and new looking, the system is so sensitive it can pick up when a bulb is going to blow but hasn't yet...

If you have an IID tool or similar and can get into the CCF file you can turn off the cold monitoring on most of the lights, it won't let you turn it off on the sidelights though... Pete

Try a hard battery reset first... Although, early LCM's are getting problematic with age!

I bought both the supensions reset and the more exspensive PC thingy.
I was thinking of selling that gizmo as I have never used it and nor do I know how to use it so flog it. Made in Scotland frae 'Girders'

you can fit a used lcm from another range rover without any reprogramming.
you'll have a small "dot" next to the mileometer which shows something has been changed but everything will work as normal.

Worth looking at the wiring diagram for the lcm side of things as some light circuits are mechanical relay operated, and others have MOSFET transistors to power circuits.

I had problems with my lcm and the interior lights being gubbed . . . . A result of disconnecting the light switch with the battery still connected one time.

I stripped the lcm apart and looking at the board could see the board scorched around the MOSFET that controlled the circuit. The MOSFET chip was labelled and I was able to source the same part online for a few quid each but never ordered some because I I ended up selling it as a trade in. The chip was soldered quite well to the board, but I genuinely believe that I would have been able to replace it with careful use of a soldering iron.

I.e. I'm of the opinion the lcm is within the realm of diy repair for those that really want to. V8 or else ...
