Hi
I have recently purchased this smart box from Ebay and after hours and hours of searching I cant find any info on connecting it up. If anybody can help it would be much appreciated.

Hi

No I havent, not knowing how old this is and reading they went out of business some time ago I didn't think it would go anywhere. Is there a way of telling how old this unit is?

Dave

To be honest I've never heard of them, I'd do lots of googling though.... just to be sure.... had a few chipped diesels over the years and never had any bother from cheap boxes off the bay to proper remaps so I recon you'll be alright... does look a bit complicated though.... Pete

They jump across the engine ECU plug... Unplug the ECU and you will find the wiring is the same so, the ECU plugs into one side and the other side plugs back into the ECU Thumbs Up

What about the two leads at the top the black and brown one? The brown one has a metal loop terminal making me think it a power feed from the battery or an earth.

The two extra leads look to be optional

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

Van Aaken were based in the village where I live and operated out of units on the TRRL site that's now earmarked for more Censored houses that we simply do not need or want.

I used them to tweak the mechanical Bosch injection pump on my 300Tdi 110 and, to be fair, they did an excellent job. They were far better than the other well-known (at the time) LR 'expert' who got more power but, looking back on the facts, had the pump running so high that I'm amazed the engine didn't blow up. By rights, it should have. VA knew what they were doing, to give them their dues.

I also bought one of their tuning boxes for my dad's BMW 320d and fitted that. Much as the item pictured above. This was back in 2007, by the way.

Seemed to improve things noticeably and the engine didn't go wrong in the two years after that.

But these days I'd go with a remap from a reputable company. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

Finally got it fitted and all seems fine.

I don't suppose anybody knows about changing the setting inside the box? I think they are called jumper plugs. It has two inside bridging two pins together at a time.

All help appreciated

Dave
