took my old td6 [cairns blue] to belguim a couple of times and it was fine, dont think its the colour thats the problem  ... - .- -.

Mine's not blue but it's been all over the place. North and West past Fort William, South past Turin, East to Prague. Many trips to the UK towing a fully loaded 3500kg trailer.

Probably break down on me now.

It would be interesting to know how close in age the OP's car is to mine could be Landrover had a bad batch of gearboxes or GM had a YTS building them  Mine was a blue one!

Mine was rebuilt by the previous owner at 70k miles. By that reckoning I'm due another rebuild soon!
