United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zermatt Silver

  • Datsun 120Y, bought in a pub for £25.
  • Lada Riva, given it after student left it in car park
  • Ford Sierra 1.6
  • Ford Sierra 1.8
  • Ford Mondeo 1.8. It wouldn't die, every year I hoped it would fail an MOT but it kept on going for 9 years. Only replaced when the seats collapsed.
  • Land Rover Series 2A (1971), an absolute shed but a great introduction into LR ownership
  • Discovery 200TDi eventually succumbed to terminal body rot
  • Discovery 3.9 V8
  • Vauxhall Astra 1.8. Horrid little car, hit a pheasant and did £1000 of damage
  • Discovery 3 HSE
  • Land Rover Series 2A (1972)
  • Discovery 300 TDi, pimped-up off-roader, green-laner and Mac4x4 entry
  • Mini Cooper S*
  • Discovery 200TDi LWB Prototype (Ambulance)*
  • Range Rover Classic LSE*
  • Range Rover Vogue TDV8*

*still have these.

James Taylor wrote an article in LRM on it a couple of years ago - I'll see if I can sort a copy out for you.

It's one of the 36 LWB Discos. Mine was the first and the first 3 door, used by LR as a demonstrator Ambulance.

After a couple of years LRSV took it back and used it for the first high roof conversion.

Loads of pics at https://www.flickr.com/photos/dinghies/sets/72157627324012551/

A short video at

I've had it for 3 years and all mechanical work is all done, just need to tidy up the body work in the spring. I was going to convert it to a camper van, but have decided to just get to road worthy and reasonably smart and sell it on later in the year.

Hi,

My list is longer than yours! Starting in 1974.

1969 Fiat 500
1967 Singer Chamois Coupe
1976 Fiat 126
1972 Triumph Spitfire Mk 4
1978 Alfa Sud Ti
1974 Triumph Dolomite
1975 MGB Roadster
1981 Austin Maestro Vanden Plas
1967 E-Type Jaguar Series 1
1977 Morgan 4/4
1975 Morgan Plus 8
1977 Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 SR
1984 Ford Capri 2.8i
1986 River Vitesse 3.5 Twin Plenium
1988 Citroen BX estate
1985 Citroen CX estate
1991 Land Rover Discovery Series 1
1993 Range Rover LSE
1995 Land Rover Discovery Series 1 Auto
1995 Toyota Land Cruiser VX 4.2
1981 Porsche 924 Carrera GT
2005 Suburu Impreza WRX PPP
2001 Smart Car
2003 Mercedes E320cdi estate
1995 TVR Griffith 500
1993 Range Rover Classic SE 3.9
1998 Morgan Plus 8
2003 VW Golf Match 1.4
2006 Land Rover Freelander Series 1
2008 Range Rover TDV8 - current car

And I've loved everyone of them. Including the MGB which was the most unreliable car I have ever bought. It cost me a fortune incl a new engine and full suspension rebuild. The cheapest cars were the Morgan's which I were able to sell for more than I paid everytime.

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Well I read those lists with some enthusiasm....and some horror !!

I am a shade the correct side of 40 so my history is based upon being a poor student, a poor civil engineer and generally poor.....I passed my test in 1992. Some of these have and are 2nd cars !

1983 Ford Fiesta 1.1 Finesse (Supersport alloys and rear spoiler)
1989 Seat Ibiza 1.2 12v "system porsche" Rolling with laughter
1993 Ford Orion 16v
1997 Ford Escort RS2000
1996 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi
1998 Peugeot 306 D.Turbo
2001 Citroen Xsara 2.0 HDi
2002 Vauxhall Frontera 3.2 V6 LWB
2003 Fiesta Flight
2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 XS
2000 Alfa Romeo GTV Lusso
2003 Alfa Romeo 156 2.4 JTD Lusso
2005 Land Rover Discovery 3 2.7 TDV6 SE
2004 Fiesta Zetec-S
2006 Audi A8 Quattro Sport TDi
1989 Caterham 2.0 Litre ford
2007 Toyota Corolla T-Sport
2007 Volvo XC90 SE Lux D5
2007 Honda Jazz 1.4 SE
2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8

Next.....not a clue, FF for a while to be fair. Quite fond of Audi so may head for another A8....but also like D4's so may head there too....if a suitable 4.4 tdv8 comes up for grabs...I could be there too !! Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
