Wear thick leather gloves, there's lots of sharp metal in that area |

Changing as I have been told by garage that the cable adjuster is not working correctly, I had the handbrake shoes adjusted and handbrake is still crap.

Before doing anything with the handbrake lever and cable have you had the rear drums off?

Yes all that was done and the shoes adjusted up, the handbrake works but not effectively and I don't think it would go through its MOT as is |

Does that mean your cable is partly in the future |

I replaced drum & shoes, adjusted, replaced cables. Still useless. Perhaps my adjustment mechanism on lever is knackered. Beware sharp edges and I look forward to hearing how you get on. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

Have you tried it at different suspension heights? Due to the extreme articulation your handbrake can work well on off road height... Drop it to access height and your handbrake probably won’t hold the car at all! |

Have not tried that, but would have thought that the handbrake should work in all situations. No doubt I will have to replace the cables as well. |
