Question re park heat

Hi everyone. I have searched through all the topics and I wouldn't mind someone clarifying a few things I got my first RR last Thursday and really impressed. I had a cls320 for the last 6 years and the RR is a dream to drive It's the Vogue SE model with plenty of toys but not park heat. On the sat nav touch screen there is no option to select it

I would like to retro fit it and I understand that this is possible. From what I've read here I can get the parts from the Webasto and then I need to enable the software using an IIB tool or the like

Could some confirm the above is correct and if so would the IIB tool be the best cost / effective unit ?

Thanks in advance for any answers and I'm sorry if I come across as a newbie but I am !!!

Shouldn't be too difficult to get the parts from a scrap car, will certainly be much cheaper. All the TD6's had them as standard.

You might have the actual unit fitted already (under the battery), but configured as an auxiliary heater, to bring the engine up the temperature more quickly in cold weather. It might just be a question of using the IID tool to enable it for park heating.

IID is an excellent tool, it does more than the dealer tool and it's far cheaper!

As above it will already be fitted all diesel range rovers had them as standard afaik, on a VSE I would think it should also have a remote with it! Probably got lost. Are you sure that it's not on the main screen? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks so much for the prompt answers. I've checked the screen and followed the owners manual and it's certainly not where the booklet says it will be I thought it would be standard on this model.

Another question if I may, on the merc when I opened the car with the remote the headlights came on which was handy but on the RR it' just brings on the interior lights and wing mirror lights Is there an option to change this ?

if its an Irish spec car it varies slightly from the UK.

It sounds like you just need the receiver module and then the car told its fitted and configured and remote fobs as well Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

FYI the guide me home lights would need to be setup at the same time as the park heat function as they are enabled through a diagnostic tool and the delay is set as well. I also enabled mine to have the Scandinavian light setup so that my lights are always on during the daytime. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

If the receiver isn't already fitted in the boot, you should be able to activate park heating without it. That'll give you the ability to set it through the touch screen to come on at a given time.

I got a petrol 4.4 2003 with the webasto heater and my question is: on the main screen i can select "aux heat/ventilation". Does this mean i can only heat up my engine and not the cabin? Thought i read somewhere that it have to say "park heat" to warm the cabin up.
If thats the case is it possible to add the function through the IID tool?

Thanks L322 Vogue 2003

Mine is a slightly later one with the touch screen. And has a menu for "Timed Climate".

When i go into the timed climate menu i have "30 minute heat or vent" - if you don't have park heating active it just says 30 min vent i think.

The aux heater function is as you say for warming the engine up more quickly, however I don't think you can set it to pre-heat the engine on a timer. You can however set it to pre-heat the cabin on a timer. So i would think you actually have park heating, it's just perhaps lost in translation - i assume your menu's are in Swedish?

But yes, if you have the heater fitted you can switch it on or off with the IID. With mine park heating was activated by the aux heating was switched off, i suppose being a petrol it wasn't as important as on a diesel, i switched it on anyway though as i only have a short commute to work, so it should bring the engine up to temp faster.
You probably already have the remote receiver in the boot, adding a remote control is fairly easy, i did it with mine as the remote was missing.

Just an FYO but i believe with IID once you enable the park heat function you also need to reset the dash (also with IID) so that the changes take effect.

if you don't it should still work but apparently takes a few days to show up

Yeah, there is an option in both the climate control system and instrument cluster to enable it.

Hi all. I got the Iid tool and set FBH to on. Haven't tried it yet as battery was flat after playing with tool. One question , FBH MODE mine is in KBUS and I had the option to change it to normal. When I tried it would not amend CC files. Any thoughts ? 2015 4.4 AB
