I have read various threads regarding removing the main viscous cooling fan from the front of the engine. With the Electric fan already there controlled by the ECU it sounds like a good idea. I do question if removing the fan would be such a good idea in a hot climate so can I ask has anyone removed their fan and subsequently ran their car in very hot conditions, High 30c`s to 40c`s? Any dramas? 2007 TDV8 VSE

I don't think that I would recommend removing the fan and not replacing it with something a bit more suitable....

I think I have got the wrong end of the stick, I though the existing electric fan was enough on the TD6 in colder climates and the addition of Jag fans needed on the V8 only. 2007 TDV8 VSE

No your right, there are some peep's who are running TD6's without the viscous fan........ but they aren't doing heavy towing or living in a country where snow is something that's only seen in pictures |

Well thats sort of why I asked the question. I had a quick squint through rave and it appears the electric fan on the TD6 comes on gradually in steps, voltage controlled, Temp sender in head

As miggit says, I'd fit a temp gauge and also fit a lower temp thermostat, I think the TD6 uses a standard size one so you should be able to put a lower temp one in cheap enough. Pete
