I am new to the site , bought a 2003 4.4 Vogue and so far apart from rear wiper motor it has been fine, I have had this problem twice now
got up this morning to go to work all windows were down and sunroof partly open
and it has rained in any suggestions
I managed to get windows up using remote but not working on door switches as these need to dry out.

You don't say whether the car was still locked or unlocked.

If you press and hold unlock the windows and sunroof open.

Dodgy remote or something pressing on remote?

The car was locked with the remote and the keys were put away, not in my pocket
just wondering if it is something to do with lazy locking?

If the key is getting worn it takes very little pressure to activate the Lazy Locking, and the key range is massive so easy to do when in the house... happened to mine with the old key, never happened with the new key.....

You can get it switched off by a dealer or get an IID tool and do it yourself...  Pete

The key fob is a new one and the buttons seem ok
I can not understand how it is happening as I put the keys away in a safe
Place over night so they are not in my pocket and the spare fob is ok
I have now got to solve how to dry out drivers door switch panel as nothing
Seems to work on it except the rear windows isolating switch light is on
sunroof is now ok and works on its switch

Is it only happening over night, what about if its left locked all day does it still happen, im wondering if it could some how be getting activated by another remote from someone else...

Merv, first you are lucky it's rain water, it should dry without leaving any deposits on the PCB which causes faults, you will need to get the door panel off and remove the switch panel, leave it in the airing cupboard over night should do it...

If you leave it on the water will eventually dry out but it will take a while and could cause lasting damage...

plenty of "how to's" on youtube, no special tools required...

I'd get the Lazy locking switched off if I were you...  Pete
