Seems like lots of places are making head units to fit now, curved, straight, Android, WinCE, the list goes on and on... they will all be pretty much the same to fit though...

Pay your money and take your pick...

If I was doing it now I think I'd get a generic double din unit and a fitting kit that fills the space in at the side... some of them have all sorts of extras and are much cheaper than the fitted ones....  Pete

Depends what you want it to do and how much you want to spend....

I'd get one with DAB or the ability to plug in a DAB unit... it's really up to personal choice they all seem to be very similar in fitting... Pete

Just look for the spec you want... quad core is the fastest at the moment, the non android ones can be a bit slow in use but not real bad...

They seem to be up to Android 4.4.4. as the highest spec...

Make sure it comes with GPS software, some don't and it then cost's you more to buy it....

Very pleased with the results, Only problem, Steering wheel buttons are not working so unsure if its a faulty canbus system?
Any ideas ?

Also, have a slight buzz/rumble out of a couple speakers (Guess they are blown), should i upgrade or buy like for like from a breakers?

Anyways, If i can follow these instructions, anyone can !!!! The hardest part really is removing all the trim !

Check you have connected the correct wire in the boot to the can bus, there are several similar coloured wires, "Canbus to the green wire from unit,connect to the white/slate(grey)/yellow wire in pin 9 in the radio plug"

There is a setting for steering wheel keys, does nothing on mine as they just work but maybe they need programming on different units...???

The speakers are 8ohm which is why you can run them doubled up on the 4ohm output from the unit, so whatever you get I'd get 8ohm ones...

And well done for getting it in, hope the few niggles get sorted OK Pete

I've just ordered my kit

am i missing the part of how to connect the FM aerial? it comes with an adaptor i see but the connector is in the boot and the aerial connection is up front in back of android unit so how does it reach all that way to connect up as the 5m extension is just speakers and power? Cheers!

Says it in there somewhere, you need a 5mtr aerial extension lead... loads on ebay....  Pete

thanks pete, my kit turned up today, suprisingly quick as it came from Germany.

think i have everything i need ready to start the process, but i do see the subwoofer doesnt get connected, what wire colour is the sub if you know? i think ill run a set of phono cabales to the back and buy an amp to run the sub but i just dont know which wire colour it is

The sub output is on the green (ish) coloured phono plug.... there is no direct drive for the sub and it will require a stand alone amplifier to run it...... so that's one of your phono's used up  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

There are a lot of wires going to the sub... easiest would be to follow them to the sub itself and see what's going on, it'l be down to two wires at the speakers themselves....!!!
