The Body Control Module or BC Unit controlls all aspects of the cars security and windows etc. The RF Reciever is in the boot and then sends the signal to that. There is a lot of info on the workshop manual on the subject, but here is the summary for the RF Reciever: RF Receiver The RF receiver converts the signals from the RF remote handset into digital messages and transmits them to the BCU. The RF receiver is integrated into the rear window antenna amplifier installed behind the inner trim on the top left edge of the upper tail door. Operation of the receiver is powered by a permanent battery feed from the rear fusebox. |

Agreed, you should be able to swap the entire insides of your key for any replacement. Or just pay the £75 for one from a stealer. |

You are right, I can buy a new one, and move all electronics and transponder from mine to the new, but I wondering if I could use one those we can find on the web like this models :

I think I just bought like for like as that was the cheapest one on Ebay at the time. It worked perfectly and I have never had a problem since. |
