Every Lidl helps?

They have some car stuff this week including a "smart" battery charger, don't know if thats any good but I do like the look of the interior window cleaner gadget. Geoff

I read a post today on one of LR Facebook pages. The guy had bought five of them over a period of time. Said they were okay for trickle charging but were hopeless at recovering a battery. He didn't rate their longevity either and recommended buying the Ring version of the Ctek.

No idea if the guy is reliable but in this world, more often than not, you only get what you pay for.

There are quite a few people on here using the Aldi or Lidl chargers... They are spot on.
If a battery is dead or damaged no charger will bring it back. Previously..

They have 1 major negative. If you have a power cut they default to standby mode and have to be re-set manually.

That's fine if you are around but 1 day into 3 months away and you come back to a very flat battery.

C-Tek and Halfords ones default to their previous setting, post power cut.

Other than that, the Lidl/Aldi units are fine for maintenance. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

I have used the Lidl charger on a variety of cars and motorcycles over past 18 months and its always worked well. No it wont bring a dead battery back but I have recharged one using a normal low amp trickle charger for several days and then put it on the Lidl charger and its now working well.
Very good value

I bought one about 3 years ago, maybe longer from Lidl and it was about £13 I think? Works a treat especially on my RR that sits for 2 weeks then does about 10 journeys of 5-10 miles at a time. Now Ive finally got round to replacing my knackered FSR I hopefully wont be using it as often... Bow down

I have a few of them, can't argue for the money. As above, they reset when the power goes off and they don't like charging completely flat batteries - both things a Ctek doesn't have a problem with. Mode button has also failed on one of the older ones.

Fakes aren't a massive problem on ebay, I've bought thousands of things over the years and never had any problem with them...

This one seems to tick all the boxes and is less than half the other one and comes from the UK...

We get 20A smart chargers here half the price of Ctec and far more robust

had an Aldi one back in the UK but after a few months they just died would get another and the same would happen so gave up , The Ctec never seemed worth the money even though we used them on the Fire Appliances and now I know they aren't . 2008 MY Supercharged
