There is a tube on the in the engine bay with a little black cap on it. Push and twist to remove then plug in the vac. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Not being sarcastic here... The tube is where you would expect to find the dipstick sir... Left side front (ish) similar place to the 3,6

What is the best and most suitable vacuum to use ? There are loads on eBay?

I use one called mityvac, although it's not quite large enough for to remove all the oil in one go

Just checked and the id of the tube is only 5.4mm so a 5mm tube needs to go down there. Thats not much of an id to get the oil oil out, especially if its cold! It must take ages!

The mityvac comes with different tube diameters that will fit down most (if not all) dipstick pipes

With warm engine, sucking the oil out of my last car took about 20 mins max

a tube doesn't go down the dipstick tube it attaches to the top of it, on the 4.4 the tube is connected to a drain off point at the bottom of the sump  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

That's what I was told.... Could have been bamboozled though. Mine has a kinda of bayonet fitting on the top. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Two questions if I may...

1. Does anyone know where the vacuum suction hose fits to extract engine on a 4.4TDV8? Is it where the oil filter is located in the vee or some other place? and

2. Approximately how much new oil would be needed for such a change?

The 4.4tdv8 wiki method shows draining from the bottom which I don't want to do with fragile awkward to get to sump plugs.

This is the unit we use - its a 18L pump oil extractor- you can suck oil out or pressure it in - very very good - I think it cost us £580 but having said that worth every penny - does the job - dont buy a cheap unit - same as a ford !!!!!

I have one very similar to that but only sucks the oil out.

Every other oil change I will vacuum out about 6 litres and then drain the rest from the sump plugs, just to check that there is nothing in the oil that shouldn't be.

I tend to do both mine and the wife's car at the same time, they both use the same spec oil. Once I have extracted all the oil I then use the empty containers to pour the old oil into to them take to the recycling centre to dispose of.

On the RR, whilst the oil is being extracted I tend to replace the oil filter, then check/replace air & pollen filter and top up washer bottle. By the time I have done all that the oil has been removed and then straight onto putting fresh back in. All completed in about 30mins and without having to put overalls on. Regards
