I have just purchased a 2011 Range Rover vogue which needs a little tlc.
I had the feeling while driving it that the rear right suspension felt a little softer on left turn compared to the rear left suspension on right turns, so I measured the height of the body from the bottom of the alloy and I have about 2cm difference between left and right, there is no suspension fault showing on the dashboard.
Also looking to give it an oil change and have about 15l of 5w40 fully synthetic oil left over from another vehicle would it be unwise to use it in this engine, where the manufacturer specify 5w40?
I am also replacing the wheel that it came with 255/50/20 which have been badly refurbished by a blind man, and would like to fit the 10 spokes 21 inches with 275/45/21 tires from the new Range Rover, is that going to be ok or are offset different?

The oil cannot be “any old oil” sir... There is a specific code to follow in the service schedule for the correct oil sir

I am not a techie...so that's my hands up from the start, but Craig is right....don't invest in a 2011 Vogue and then put oil in it that was left over from a previous car

In terms of the suspension, mine had a similar issue - get it plugged in with a specialist and they can advise, set up and make good for about an hour or so's labour

21's....I have the L405's fitted to my 322 and they are a direct replacement, pictured here in stock silver and then satin black

as said its definitely not just any old left over 5w40.

there is a specific Ford code for the oil and in the 4.4 that is WSS-M2C 934-B  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

What are the old 20" wheels you have? Any pics?

It is not old dirty oil by the way, It's just that it was in the shed for a bit since I have been driving a petrol car for few years, i have always been under the impression that a slightly thicker oil masks the engine noises but affect mpg, however I don't like to take any chances, also the car doesn't need a service yet.
I have fitted the new wheels today but first had to have the front control arm bushes replaced.
I looked at the rear and there is no wear on any of the bushes and the ride height sensor linkage is attached and in one piece, I can't understand how can the right side sit 3/4 of an inch lower, then reading other posts it turns out that many people have this issue on brand new cars even, and Land Rover says that 1inch difference is within accepted tolerances.
I'm hoping that someone here can direct me to a clever guy with the right software that can adjust the levels for me.
Here are the pictures of the car with the wheels replaced today btw Turns out I need a set of wheel nuts what's the best place to get a decent set with security nuts included?
Also I've included a picture of the 20" wheels that have been removed, they can do with smarting up although they are dirty in the picture, tires have lots of thread left tho.
