Chainsaws - Which one?

My current saw is not up to the job any more, I have a lot of trees that have come down over the years which have always been one of these jobs you will get round too !! Anyway I now really need to sort them and need a decent machine, I have been googling like mad and like the look of the Husky 450. Does anyone have a comment or experience that could help, budget up to £500

Trees are a mixture of soft/hard and from god planted them to a couple of years.

Thanks Bow down

Echo or Dolmar appear to be overtaking Husky and Stihl for quality.

I have an old Makita one Whichnhas been fine and had some hammer. It's a DCS520 which I think is the same as a Dolmar 115. Don't think they make them any more tho.

Makita and Dolmar are the same company, makita are blue dolmar orange..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I think it was replaced by the 5105 , which is supposed to be cracking and cheaper than the big two .

I always buy Stihl. They are top quality and I don't think they can be beaten. Take a look at what the professionals use. Stihl is by far the most common.

I have a Husky 435 - had it 3 years now. Cut down many trees, cut many trunks into smaller trunks/logs. Other than a new chain and fuel never had to buy anything for it. Always starts first time no matter how long its been stood. I also find it comfortable to use all day which isn't always something you can say about other makes. I can recommend them. 2008 TDV8

have had many stihl disc cutters at work, always end up pulling your guts out on them to get them going, probably different with chainsaws as its a bit of a less dusty situation, but it just puts me off. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I shoot with a couple of tree surgeons. All their kit is Stihl, but I think that's because they get good credit terms on it!

Stihl crazy...after all these years.

if you get one, get the gear to go with it. facegaurd, trousers, boots. wrist guards. and a lookout guy.
