Yes check for "oil drain pipe modification" is a 10 hour modification requiring drilling the block at owners cost... |

Hi all, hope you don't mind me resurrecting this! I'm in the process of looking for a 4.4 at the moment. Has anyone got any idea how much this mod would cost if I required it? And what is the easiest way to identify weather it has been done or not?

because the 4.4 tdv8 is such a lazy engine most dont go over 2500 rpm when at those revs the second turbo kicks in...if and when you test drive , boot it so the revs go over that rpm and have a look in the rear view mirror for excess smoke.. ... - .- -.

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. The car I am looking at buying, I took it for a drive today. There was nothing at tick over, I got the guy to rev it hard whilst I was stood behind and nothing either. I spank it a couple of times on the test drive and still nothing! I am hoping it is ok.

If it's not smoking then I would be inclined not to worry about it too much.
